Best possible rental car experience. We arrived as a family of 4 late in the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Madpoint's communication and professionalism was evident from the moment we arrived at Madeira Airport. We received a WhatsApp letting us know exactly where to meet and we were shuttled to the rental car location up the hill. When I told the shuttle driver where we planned to go shopping before the stores closed he told us to go to another store that would be much better--where he shops. He made sure to give us precise directions to that store and it worked out perfectly. Thank you! When we realized that we had rented a smaller car than what we needed, Madpoint gave us a great deal on a bigger car and we were set. Overall every employee here really cared about us and our trip. You can see that this is a business run by locals who are thoughtful and caring. We will be back...as soon as possible!

The team communicated clearly on collection of the car for a family holiday. Hired baby seat was suitable (although they didn't seem to know how it was fit into the car- easily resolved). Drop off was very easy - they collected from our hotel. Would definitely book with them again.

Had a very good experience with them. They accepted Revolut Debit card for blocking excess. They were easy to communicate with, there was a pickup with a van from the airport to their office. The official part was fast and there was no paper, everything was done digitally. The car was in a good shape, a Kia Picanto, it took us up the steepest roads in Madeira. The return was also easy. I can recommend this company to everyone.

Im November 2024 hatte ich für 5 Tage einen Mietwagen von Madpoint. Online reserviert, 25 % Anzahlung. Verständlich, damit nicht Spaßvögel Autos reservieren, aber nicht mieten. Abrechnung korrekt. Der persönliche Kontakt war sehr angenehm. Beide Damen im Büro freundlich und geduldig. Ausführliche Übergabe durch die Mitarbeiterin Lipa, Übermittlung des Vertrags unverzüglich per Mail. Ich hatte das Glück, zum gebuchten Preis eine zwei Stufen bessere Fahrzeugkategorie zu bekommen. Das Fahrzeug war völlig in Ordnung, Kopplung mit Smartphone über Bluetooth und Verwendung von Android Auto problemlos. Die Rückgabe war so entspannt wie angekündigt. Ohne Lupe. Lipa hat den Wagen kurz in Augenschein genommen, kurz darauf hatte ich schon das Protokoll über die Rückgabe ohne Schäden. Alles tadellos, dazu noch nette Unterhaltungen und Austausch über die Unternehmungen.

I recently rented a car from this company, and I was very pleased with the experience. If you purchase full insurance, there’s no need to leave a deposit, which is a great benefit. The ladies at the reception were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the process. I rented a Kia Picanto with only 8,000 km and it was perfect for exploring the island. The car handled well, even on the steepest inclines. However, if you prefer a more powerful vehicle, I recommend opting for something stronger to avoid any unnecessary stress. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend this company!

Aluguei um carro com a Madpoint por 4 dias. Foi uma ótima experiência! A começar pelo atendimento. Eu retirei o carro na loja deles (no Lido) e fui super bem atendida pela Joana. O processo de pagamento da caução e das diárias foi super simples e tranquilo. Eu aluguei um Fiat 500 que me levou para todos os lugares que quis visitar na Madeira. A devolução foi super tranquila também. Rápida e sem burocracias. Recomendo muito a madpoint pois não tentaram me oferecer seguros extras, o valor da diária do carro foi o melhor que encontrei na ilha e eles estavam super a disposição se eu tivesse qualquer dúvida ou problema com o carro. Super expérience ! Nous avons loué une voiture durant une semaine, cela s’est bien passé, les agents sont également réactifs. Lors de notre arrivée à l’aéroport un agent nous attendait et nous a emmené au point de location grâce à une navette (2 minutes de trajet). La transaction s’est faite de manière simple et fluide. Pour avoir zéro soucis nous avions pris en photo le véhicule au début et à la fin de la location. Nous avons eu zéro soucis! Je recommande ! ✅

Really competitively priced compared to all of the big names at the Airport. All of their cars look in great shape, and my A3 was no exception. You need a car in good condition if you plan on driving around the island. Pick up and drop off was a breeze, with a 1-minute shuttle from the airport to the rental lot. When we arrived at Madeira, a Madpoint employee was already waiting for us at the airport. The formalities related to renting a car went very smoothly, it took less than 10 minutes. We received Fiat Panda Hybrid, the car was clean and in a good shape. Returning the car took about 5 minutes. The staff was very friendly. Will definitely choose the same car rental when I come back to Madeira.

Sehr freundliches Empfangsgespräch, das Auto wurde uns ins Hotel gebracht und auch dort wieder abgeholt. Das gemeinsame Begutachten hat sehr gut geklappt und der Bericht mit Vorschäden / kratzer war lückenlos und mit Bilder vorbildlich gepflegt. Das Auto war innen sehr sauber und entsprach auch sonst dem gewünschten Rahmen. Ich kann dieses Unternehmen nur empfehlen und werden die Dienste gerne bei meinem nächsten Madeira Besuch wieder in Anspruch nehmen.

Teljesen elégedettek voltunk az autóval és a személyzet is nagyon kedves és illedelmes volt. Szinte vadonat új Kia Picantot kaptunk, ami 3 személyt gond nélkül felvitt a kb függőleges utcákon is. A legolcsóbb bérlőknél csak minimálisan drágább, de itt csak pozitív véleményeket olvastunk. Mi is őket ajánljuk. We were totally satisfied with the car and the service was also kind and polite. We got an almost brand new Kia Picanto, which had no problem with taking 3 of us to the top of almost vertical streets. Prices were barely higher than the cheapest ones, but we only read good reviews. We recommend to choose them.

The car was modern, clean, without damage, comfortable, and powerful enough for the steep Madeira roads. We had initially booked with another hire company, but I changed to Madpoint because of the positive reviews which are accurate. The car (Volkswagen T-Cross) was equipped with parking sensors, reversing camera, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and good air conditioning. The pick-up/collection experience was smooth and the rep friendly. I picked up from the office on Rua Gorgulho and they were happy to pick the car up from the parking area of our Funchal hotel - I just left the keys at our hotel reception and collection was sorted. I received an email confirming no damage and full tank of fuel, which just required a digital signature. I have separate car hire excess insurance and there was no pressure to ‘upgrade’ to the company’s ‘Insurance Plus’, just remember to have a debit/credit card with enough funds/limit for the refundable deposit. All in all a great, friendly experience and I would be happy to use Madpoint again when we return to Madeira!

Notre voiture était récente et en parfait état. Le personnel est très agréable, réactif par mail et compétent. Ils sont professionnels et n’ont pas cherché à nous imposer d’assurance complémentaire ou de pinailler lors du retour de la voiture. Je les recommande vivement.

Great experience with them. Booked a reservation months in advance, was able to purchase additional insurance at pick up. Even though their websites says they close at 1800h, they stayed open until we arrived and got our car (past 1900). Staff were nice, the car itself was as advertised. If you go with the other big brand rental companies, you will probably have to hunt down a parking spot at the airport upon return of the car. Go with Madpoint and they will drop you off themselves.

Had a really good experience with Madpoint. After accidentally booking the wrong type of car they let us change it, for no extra charge. A special shout out to Lipa who was so accommodating and nice to us. The kindest/best person I’ve dealt with at a rental company.

Excellent communication and service from initial contact to rental return. Flying in and out of Madeira often involves delays - and my flights were no exception both at arrival and departure. The Madpoint team was accommodating and offered multiple ways to stay in touch, even after hours. The gentleman who picked us up at the airport was efficient and quite personable. His humour was appreciated after a bumpy landing. I aim to always support local when I travel but I admit I was a bit nervous booking a car with a smaller company. I’m SO glad I did! The car was new, and felt quite safe and stable even in challenging road conditions. My only advice to potential renters who plan on driving around the island is to splurge on a car with a bigger engine, it’ll help you on the climbs, and accept their insurance - I didn’t need it, but some areas of the island made me VERY glad I had it! Overall, highly recommended!!

Toujours très compliqué de trouver de bonnes agences de locations surtout à l’étranger . Ayant fait confiances au précédent commentaires sur leurs page je me suis lancé . Location d’une semaine au volant d’une Hyundai i20 avec 19 000 kms au compteur lavée intérieur et extérieur à la prise en charge . J’avais demandé qu’on me la dépose directement à mon hôtel , la personne a été très sympa , et a tout bien expliqué pas de (pièges) et de facturation supplémentaire . Pour information j’ai opté pour la formule avec l’assurance PLUS a 25€ pour éviter la caution de 1900€ et puis pour rouler aussi plus sereinement . Au retour j’ai simplement donnés les clefs à la réception de mon hôtel et une personne est venu la récupérer, j’ai reçu un mail 20 minutes après pour que je signe le bon de retour avec le nouveau contrôle effectué par le personnel de MADPOINT Pt aucune surprise. Pas de dégâts déclarés donc pas de soucie . Aucun regret de mon côté tous c’est très bien passé , véhicule roulant parfaitement , personnel très pro et dispo . Tarif + que correct car kilométrage illimité sur leurs véhicules ce qui est un gros + surtout sur Madère pour les visites . Je ne peu que vous les conseillez .

Attendus comme prévu à l'aéroport pour nous emmener jusqu' à l'agence, voiture en excellent état, 24 000 km au compteur, contrat reçu par mail dans l'agence dès signature avec des photos des éclats ( minuscules ) présents sur la carrosserie, retour de la voiture rapide mais néanmoins minutieux, envoi de l'état des lieux par mail tout de suite précisant bien qu'il n'y a aucun dommage. Personnel efficace, sérieux et très avenant. Seul bémol : la caution de 1900 € qui incite vraiment au plus grand soin. Je recommande madpoint.

J’ai loué une Skoda Sacal automatique avec Madpoint pour 1 semaine. Je suis très satisfaite du service offert. Un chauffeur m’attendait à la sortie de l’aéroport pour me conduire à l’emplacement où j’ai pu récupérer la voiture. Celle-ci était propre et elle a bien fonctionné pendant toute la durée du voyage. J’étais contente d’avoir un véhicule assez puissant pour monter les cotes de Madère. Au retour, ils sont venus récupérer la voiture directement à mon hôtel à Funchal. Comme j’avais pris l’assurance dommage, ils ont simplement pris le véhicule sans faire d’inspection. La location m’a coûté 480€ pour 7 jours du 18 au 25 juillet. Le seul bémol est qu’il n’y avait pas de lave-vitre dans le véhicule.

Super expérience avec madpoint. Carte de débit suffisait pour louer. Nous avons pris l’assurance en plus. Check-in et check-out très rapides, à l’heure et sans mauvaise surprise. Personnel très accueillant et souriant. Nous avions pris une petite voiture, qui avait un peu de mal à monter les côtes mais nous le savions et avons privilégier un petit cabarit pour faciliter le stationnement mais tout s’est bien passé. Madère est une île avec bcp de côtes alors si vous préférez prenez une voiture plus puissante pour être plus tranquille. Nous recommandons madpoint et relouerons chez eux!

I was wary at first because Madpoint offered me the lowest price, they showed me a detailed description of the defects on the car and I was like "how the hell can they check this properly"? Second, in my banking app, the deposit payment appeared as an actual payment, not a pre-authorization, so I was worried about how the currency transfer would turn out in the end. But this all worked out perfectly. These people are pure gold! They are honest. The car worked great 👍 the price was the lowest of the five other car rental companies I researched. It took longer to get the deposit back - one day with a debit card, but it worked out fine - it was actually pre-authorized and there was no currency conversion. I've rented a car a few times in the Canary Islands and Malaga and I can say that the guys at Madpoint were some of the best I've worked with. Other companies may not require a deposit but are more expensive. I understand the need for a deposit in Madeira as parking spaces are sometimes difficult and driving is generally more difficult, so after paying a deposit I think twice about where I park and treat the car as if it were my own. I recommend this to other travellers:-)

We hired this car over the internet. We let them deliver the car at the hotel and also pick it up. It was a very nice experience. All the light and minor scratches were marked on the report. The guy delivering the car was very friendly and also give us some tips to go! We had a very nice week with this powerful car for the mountains of Madeira. Also the unlimited mileage was very nice. We had an amazing experience with this rental company. The staff was extremely polite and super friendly and fun, and they also pointed us towards the best places to visit with the car. We got a Fiat Panda, and when I thought I overheated the brakes on the steep hills, they were extremely helpful, and I took it in on a Sunday for a quick check. The staff was again super friendly and gave me assurances. The car also had brand new parts, so the little Fiat was well maintained. Once I got used to it,it was a blast to drive it up and down the steep roads of Madeira. Highly recommend the company.

N'ayant pas réservé par internet avant notre arrivée il n'y avait plus de voiture disponible mais les personnes à l'accueil ont été très pro et elles nous en ont trouvé une finalement de disponible. En plus, nous avons eu des bons conseils pour aller visiter l'île. Il a été possible dans la formule de la laisser au retour à l'hôtel. Super pratique ! Merci à l'agence. Nous recommandons donc.

Pour éviter les problèmes liés aux cartes de crédit, j'ai souscrit à l'assurance Premium pour environ une quinzaine d'euros euros en plus par jour c'est le prix de la tranquillité Nous avons eu une Mitsubishi Colt 1.0 Flambant neuve. Elle a été déposée à l'hôtel en temps et en heure, nous avons juste dû laisser les clés à la réception pour la rendre. Pas de problème particulier l'heure du retour véhicule à rendre avec la moitié du plein. Je recommande

Je recommande vivement cette agence de location de voiture. Aucun souci pour la caution avec ma carte bancaire débit (d'ailleurs sur leur site c'est bien précisé). Quelqu'un nous attendait à l'aéroport et nous à amener à quelques km sur leur parking faire les papiers et récupérer la voiture.. idem au retour ! Très pratique,pas de stress pour se rendre à l'aéroport. De plus le personnel qui nous a accueilli était très aimable. La voiture, une petite fiat panda a bien fait l'affaire et a monté les cotes correctement (en 2e me, voire 3eme)!

Very friendly and professional! When we made a booking with Madpoint, I accidentally reserved a manual car instead of automatic. The Madpoint staff didn’t have an automatic car available, but they helped me find one at another rental agency in just a few minutes. Madpoint also processed an immediate refund. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out after I made that initial mistake.

Alquilamos un coche en abril por una semana a muy buen precio. Nos entregaron un mitsubishi colt nuevo (solo tenia 80km en el cuenta kilometros) Al no tener tarjeta de credito me bloquearon 1500 euros en el banco que me se ne han devuelto en mayo. Esto hay que decir que no es problema de la compañia sino del banco que ha tardado mucho en quitar la retención. Por lo general gente seria y bastante bien. Recomendable!

Smooth experience! Picked up B class Fiat Panda for a week of driving with the offered insurance and it was a great experience. We were two in the car and I wasn't worried about the power as it took us up to the steepest hills and long trips in the mountains to levadas and other amazing spots in the nature. Only on trip to 25 fontes I got feeling that it would use a car with a bit more power. Pick up in the office in Funchal was easy, we got tips on what to visit and what and where to eat from the lovely lady handing us the car (Thanks, it was great!). Drop off the same, we had it near the airport, so Silvio just checked the car, filled the form and took us to the airport, I believe 15 mins altogether. 10/10 Would rent again! Tip: we started looking into car rental ~10 days before vacation (first week of May) and most of the companies were quite out of cars, so I'd recommend to start more in advance.

Excellent service. The car we received was in great condition. The pick up was great and the representative took us out to the car for full briefing and orientation. Drop off was super easy as they came to the hotel to pick the car up from us. Only complaint would be that you only get a 1/2 tank of gas and have to manage to bring it back with the same amount. Please just fill it up and eliminate the hassle for the customer. I imagine this is how car rental companies squeeze a little more margin from the customer. Despite this, I would rent from this business again in a heartbeat.

Amazing company with great service and personable employees. We rented a car from Madpoint, and must have accidentally selected a manual car when we rented online. When we arrived in Madeira, the employees were very kind to us and upon learning that the manual car rental was an accident, they worked very hard to find another rental company with an automatic car available to us at a reasonable price. Couldn’t be more grateful to them, and they waived the fee for the manual car we didn’t end up using. Truly one of the best experiences I’ve had with a company.
